Client: Wilmott Dixon Construction on behalf of Worcester University
Project Value: £700k
Worcester University Sports Arena was the first project which MIZ took on in the role as specialist subcontractor. Worcester University Sports Arena is a new multi-purpose home for recreational and high performance sport for the University and the City. The 5300m2 Arena has a seating capacity of 2000 people and provides accommodation for a wide range of sports, fitness, therapy and conference facilities.
MIZ were employed on the University of Worcester Sports Arena to supply and fit the Paroc Insulated Structural Wall Panels to the exterior of the building. The panels were to be sufficient for Tecu Shingles to be hung off the external face of the Paroc panels which formed the sealed external building envelope. MIZ were also to provide the secret fix roof, which provides superb weathering performance. Using eaves-to-eaves sheet lengths with no end laps and no external fixings penetrating the sheet, along with on-site manufacture, means that site programme was kept to a minimum, allow effective use of site labour.
