Education and Leisure Facility
Client: Graham Construction on behalf of Fife Council
Project Value: £1.5m
Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre is a new community leisure facility encompassing wet and dry facilities. It will provide a 6 lane main pool, a training pool with moveable floor, fitness suite, health suite, aerobics suite, badminton courts, sports hall and cafe with associated changing, admin and plant spaces.
MIZ were engaged, as a specialist subcontractor, to provide a roofing and cladding solution for the new Leisure Centre. MIZ provided Paroc insulated structural wall panels to create a highly fire rated external envelope and form an airtight seal to the building. The Paroc panels were then framed out and clad partially in Trespa Rainscreen Panels overlaid with Mesh supplied by GKD and partially in CGL Aluminium Tray Panels. MIZ provided a selection of roofing systems from Icopal Single Polymeric Roofing, to EuroClad Standing Seam (Euroseam). Each element of the MIZ package of approximately 2700sqm of roofing and 3300sqm of wall cladding has been individually designed taking into account the stringent project requirements. Over 500 bespoke panels and flashings were designed to create a uniquely bespoke solution.
